Tanis Sugden is the senior director of care management for Independent Living Systems, where she oversees the implementation of CalAIM programs in the organization’s facilities across the state. She works closely with counties and health plans to implement benefits like Enhanced Care Management and Community Supports.
For us, because we’re multi-county, the variations and demands of the different health plans has been pretty daunting. We’re used to the claims process, and the reimbursement processes, and support any of our contracted providers with that. So that part we’ve been able to manage, but then each plan underneath that has their variations … So that’s a big challenge.
