Colorado Pharmacists Society Executive Director Emily Zadvorny said the society will be focusing on implementing policies around scope of practice, payment for services, parity of payment for services for pharmacists, and considering how to help in underserved areas over the next year or two.
“We’re working with the (Opioid and Other Substance Use Disorders Interim Study Committee) to possibly offer medication for opioid use disorder, and (study) how pharmacies can help in underserved, rural, or frontier areas to try and get access, (and) doing our part to help with the opioid epidemic.”
