Alaska Rep. Mike Prax, chair of the House Health & Social Services Committee, discussed his work to address healthcare licensing obstacles in the state.
“The area I’m working on is getting some of the licensing obstacles out of the way. In particular, (I think) the nurse licensure compact would help Alaska a lot. Outside of Fairbanks, we have two military bases, and military spouses have a difficult time [attempting] to work just jumping through licensure hoops.”
