We spoke with Marco Torres, the founder and CEO of the California-based nonprofit Neu-Self, at the 2023 Florida State of Reform Conference earlier this year about his work to advance mental healthcare for underserved individuals. He hopes to engage with health organizations in Florida and learn from some of the work happening in the state’s mental health space.
“Not only [does Neu-Self] pair you with a therapist, but we also pair you with a life coach and a care coordinator. The life coach is going to work with you [to develop] an actual plan based on what you uncovered during your therapy sessions. The care coordinator is then going to coordinate the resources to make it more of a community healing versus an individual healing.”
