Premera, Microsoft, and Eastside Health Network announce health plan partnership

Following the trend of greater employer involvement in managing health care costs, today Premera Blue Cross, Microsoft and Eastside Health Network (EHN) announced they will offer new custom health plan for King and Snohomish County-based Microsoft employees beginning 2019. The Health Connect Plan, combines EHN’s provider network with Premera’s health plan operations expertise, to offer what the organizations hope to be a better, more integrated customer experience.

The venture is emphasizing cost predictability for employees by eliminating deductibles and co-pays for many primary care functions, with limited co-insurance on others. The plan will incorporate a dedicated service center, including a Health Connect Navigator for assistance with choosing a primary care provider, finding a specialist, confirming plan benefits, and getting answers to administrative questions.

Microsoft hopes to leverage its on site clinic and technological focus, EHN’s existing clinically integrated provider network, and Premera’s  focus on integrated care to more effectively coordinate care employee care, driving down costs and improving employee health outcomes.
