The Challenge of Dealing with Medical Mistakes
The fact that my kiddos are starting school this week and my emotional response to that probably has a bit to do with my reaction to this. That said, this short movie (15 minutes) is a powerful story of a family with two children with special needs, one of which is as a result of medical errors.
A couple of lessons from the piece that stand out.
1. Apologies are important when it comes to resolving any errors, including medical.
2. Kids are just kids, no matter what their needs.
3. You can’t put a price on mental health.
I offer this as something to spend your lunch hour with, or when you have a little downtime.
