Seattle Seahawks stars Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman promote Healthplanfinder
OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington Health Benefit Exchange today announced that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and cornerback Richard Sherman are encouraging residents to visit www.wahealthplanfinder.org to enroll in affordable health insurance through a new public service announcement.
The PSA, which was created in partnership with the White House and Washington Healthplanfinder, seeks to encourage Washingtonians to get covered or renew their Qualified Health Plan by Jan. 23, 2015 at 4:59 p.m. for coverage that starts on Feb. 1. Open enrollment ends on Feb. 15, 2015.
“I want to thank Russell and Richard for volunteering their time to raise awareness around the importance of enrolling in health insurance coverage and join them in calling for new and existing customers to visit Washington Healthplanfinder to check out their options,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell. “Jan. 23, 2015 is the deadline for Washingtonians to update their information and shop for affordable health coverage that best fits their needs and begins on Feb. 1, 2015.”
The video begins with Seahawks corner Richard Sherman stating “when your health or the game is on the line, nothing is more important than quality coverage.” Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson continues, saying “so make the right call, visit wahealthplanfinder.org and get covered.”
Renewing customers may return to Washington Healthplanfinder to sign into their online account, view their eligibility for 2015 coverage and select a health plan. Customers who need help enrolling may contact the toll-free Customer Support Center (1-855-923-4633), locate an insurance broker or navigator by zip code on wahealthplanfinder.org, or visit the Enrollment Event calendar to find opportunities to receive assistance with their application.
“It’s important that both new and renewing customers are aware of the Jan. 23 deadline to sign up for coverage that begins on Feb. 1,” said Richard Onizuka, CEO for the Washington Health Benefit Exchange. “No matter what time of year you signed up for a Qualified Health Plan, you must take action to select and pay for a health plan to ensure your coverage continues in 2015.”
Residents who are interested in signing up or renewing their Qualified Health Plan may visit www.wahealthplanfinder.org.
Reminders: Residents must select and pay for a Qualified Health Plan by Jan. 23, 2015 at 4:59 p.m. for coverage that begins on Feb. 1, 2015. Residents may also enroll by the end of open enrollment, Feb. 15, for coverage that begins on March 1.
