The Department of Health, Office of the Secretary is searching for an innovative, strategic leader for the position of Special Assistant for Health Reform and Innovation who can effectively bridge clinical care and public health. This position is located in Tumwater, Washington. (Recruitment # DOH2009)
The Special Assistant for Health Reform and Innovation reports to the Secretary of Health and is responsible for developing, implementing, and strategically leading the agency’s work around health reform and innovation, including changes in health care delivery, payment reform, and prevention strategies to achieve the triple aim.
The Special Assistant for Health Reform and Innovation is responsible for providing leadership, oversight and coordination for the Department’s efforts in health reform and innovation. This includes the development and support of partnerships with the health care delivery system, other state agencies, and the local public health system to implement health care reform. S/he serves as the key advisor to executive leadership on developments, innovations and system analysis work, and is a member of the Senior Management Team. The Special Assistant also represents the agency in key discussions and decision making with partners across the state and system.
