PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center Receives State Approval for United General Alliance

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center released the following statement today:

We are pleased to announce that the Washington State Department of Health has approved our Certificate of Need (CON), which will allow our alliance with United General Hospital.

Our PeaceHealth mission and core values call us to respond when asked to help provide needed health care. This alliance with United General Hospital will help ensure that residents of Public Hospital District 304 have local access to specialized, sustainable and innovative health care.

PeaceHealth is committing our vision, leadership, expertise, technology and financial resources to operate a modern health care facility that District residents need and deserve.  This is a logical extension of a long-standing positive relationship which includes a PeaceHealth Medical Group clinic at United General Hospital.

Under this alliance the Hospital District retains ownership of the land and United General Hospital facilities, leasing them under a long term lease to PeaceHealth.  Health care operations will be turned over to PeaceHealth pursuant to an operating agreement in order to achieve economies of skill and scale, and reduce cost while improving access and quality.
