According to a recently posted Seattle Times article, cases of whooping cough in Washington State continue to grow:
The number of whooping cough cases in Washington State continues to climb, surpassing 1,000 cases so far this year.
Health officials say the state is on pace to reach more than 3,000 cases for the year, a level that hasn’t been seen in decades.
Figures released Tuesday show 1,008 cases have been reported since April 21, compared to 110 cases in the same period last year.
Pertussis, or whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory illness spread by coughing and sneezing.
