Registration for “5 Slides: Mental Health in a Time of COVID in Texas” is now open!

The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic downturn has caused widespread despair and feelings of vulnerability. State of Reform is eager to take up the topic of mental health in our upcoming “5 Slides: Mental Health in a Time of COVID in Texas” virtual convening. The conversation is teed up for July 15, 2020, from 12:00 – 1:00 CDT.

This session will explore the impact of COVID-19 on mental health and Texas’ response to people suffering from mental health challenges due to isolation and financial stress.

Joining us for the conversation is Sonja Gaines, Deputy Executive Commissioner for Intellectual and Developmental Disability and Behavioral Health Services at HHSC, and Bonnie Cook, President & CEO of Mental Health America of Greater Dallas.

Each panelist will offer one slide highlighting a key question or topic they think is worth discussing. Our panelists, along with comments and questions from our audience members, will wrestle with each topic as we discuss the future of health care in Texas. Join us in one of the most pressing problems facing our community!
