Alliance Healthcare Foundation awards $815,000 in Mission Support grants to San Diego nonprofits

Alliance Healthcare Foundation (Alliance) has announced it’s 11th cohort of Mission Support grant recipients. The grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations committed to advancing health and wellness. The 20 San Diego recipients were announced this week from a field of over 155 applicants after a review process concluded last month.

With hundreds of incredible non-profits in San Diego working diligently to address complex social and health issues, it is a difficult decision to narrow applications down to the roughly 10% we have the resources to fund,” said Sarah Lyman, Alliance’s Executive Director. “That being the case, we are honored to provide support to the 2020 grantees, and are immensely grateful for their impact.”

The 20 recipients in San Diego County are:

Alliance Health Clinic

Cesar Chavez Service Clubs

Community Yoga & Mindfulness

Dreams for Change

Generate Hope

Interfaith Community Services

Just in Time for Foster Youth

Planned Parenthood Pacific Southwest

Postpartum Health Alliance

Champions for Health

transcenDance

The recipients were chosen based on a criteria which took into account an applicant’s demonstrated ability to deliver impact for its target population, as well as the depth of that potential impact.

According to Alliance, the Mission Support program “aims to provide funding to organizations that advance health and wellness for those in need.” The foundation said that grant amounts range from $25,000 to $100,000 per recipient, totaling $815,000.

The recipients are permitted to apply the grant in a manor of their choosing that most adequately serves vulnerable populations.
