Governor Kitzhaber: Tax Credits for More Oregonians Means Better Coverage, Affordable Costs
(Salem, OR) — Governor Kitzhaber released the following statement today in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ decision to provide Retroactive Advance Payments to states implementing health care marketplaces:
“I have been working closely with the Oregon Legislature and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to ensure that Oregonians who enrolled in health insurance plans outside of our insurance exchange would still be able to claim tax credits that are a key benefit of the Affordable Care Act. Today’s news means that many more Oregonians will be able to access better coverage at a more affordable cost. I applaud the federal government for its efforts to make this financial assistance available for more Oregonians.”
