Cover Oregon to Begin Hosting Community Meetings

The Oregon Health Insurance Exchange, now branded ‘Cover Oregon’, will be hosting a community meeting in Bend on November 7th where attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about the state’s Health Insurance Exchange.

The meeting will provide a forum for community members to voice their ideas and opinions on the issues that matter to them and to the local community as whole.

This announcement comes following a news release from Cover Oregon.  In it, the Organization states this meeting in Bend will be the first of a series of meetings hosted by Cover Oregon throughout the state.  It went on to say:

Cover Oregon – the new name for Oregon’s health insurance exchange – will be a central marketplace where Oregon individuals and small employers can shop for health insurance plans and access financial assistance to help pay for coverage.

Starting in October 2013, Cover Oregon will serve as a one-stop resource through a web portal, toll-free phone number, and community partners and agents.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the Cover Oregon Board of Directors, which, according to the news release posted on their website, consists of consumer advocates, health professionals, and business owners, including Aelea Chrisofferson of Bend, who owns ATL Communications.
