California’s Valued Trust members gain access to Sutter Health | Aetna plans

Sutter Health | Aetna [last week] announced it has entered into an agreement with California’s Valued Trust (CVT) to provide five Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) plans. All plans focus on delivering to the education community comprehensive coverage for high-quality care, an integrated member experience and easy-to-access options. Each plan will also include CVS Caremark prescription coverage.

“We’re working to transform the delivery of healthcare by making it easier to access and more affordable,” said Steve Wigginton, Sutter Health | Aetna CEO. “We are excited to work with CVT, an organization that is also on the leading edge of healthcare benefits, to focus on innovation and integration that will help lower the cost of high-quality care.”

CVT is a statewide PPO Trust that represents more than 162,000 members with over 235 K-14 school districts, community colleges and county education offices throughout the state. It aims to manage rising healthcare costs through offering premier benefit products to members and their families. CVT is the first to offer plans with access to the Sutter Health | Aetna network to California’s education community.

“CVT is committed to delivering advanced solutions that address the challenge of rising healthcare costs for our Northern California members,” said Valerie Cornuelle, CVT Executive Director. “Sutter Health | Aetna’s high-performance network allows us to offer plans that provide coverage for high-quality care and innovative services with the goal of increasing access and lowering cost.”

Each EPO will provide CVT members access to the Sutter Health | Aetna network, which includes two nationally recognized health systems, 33 hospitals, more than 1,700 primary care physicians, over 9,400 specialists, 74 urgent care locations and 26 walk-in clinics in Northern California.
