AK: Insurance Division Director Kolb to Resign
Bret Kolb, the director of the Alaska Division of Insurance, has announced that he will be resigning next month. Kolb is leaving his current position to take on the role as the Director of Business Development for Palmer-based Victory Ministries of Alaska, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
Kolb’s resignation letter says his last day will be Dec. 19, and the Executive Director of Victory, Brian Headdings, said Kolb will begin his new job in January. Kolb said he is leaving the government and insurance industry altogether.
“It was an opportunity to do something that was good for my family,” he said.
Kolb said his resignation is not connected to the health insurance marketplace. He said it is also not connected to the recent announcement by Gov. Sean Parnell to not participate in Medicaid expansion.
