ANCHORAGE — State public health centers will waive all immunization administration fees during National Infant Immunization Week. The annual observation, April 20–27, is a perfect time to update children’s vaccinations at no cost.

National Infant Immunization Week highlights the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrates the achievements of immunization programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities. Since 1994, this special week has served as a call to action for parents, caregivers, and health care providers to ensure that infants are fully immunized against 14 vaccine-preventable diseases.

Parents are encouraged to call their local state public health center to schedule an appointment during April 20-27 and for more information. Since all immunization administration fees are being waived, moms, dads, grandmothers and grandfathers are encouraged to get up to date on their vaccinations, as well. All other normal administrative fees for regular services still apply.
