Alaska Health Care Commission To Meet August 16-17

The following letter was sent from Deborah Erickson, Executive Director of the Alaska Health Care Commission, on August 3:

Dear Alaska Health Care System Stakeholder,

The next meeting of the Alaska Health Care Commission will be held August 16-17 in Anchorage at Providence Alaska Medical Center. The primary focus of this meeting will be on improving quality of care for seriously and terminally ill patients. A national expert in the field of palliative medicine, Dr. Christine Ritchie, will present to the Commission the morning of August 16, followed by a series of panelists who will share perspectives of Alaskan providers and community representatives. This meeting is open to the public and a public hearing will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 16. The Commission’s Fall 2012 meeting will be held October 11-12 in Anchorage, and will focus on the employer’s role in health and health care. The Commission is partnering with Commonwealth North to host the featured speaker, John Torinus, Jr., author of The Company that Solved Health Care.
