Access and equity are key priorities for Meshanette Johnson-Sims, PhD, LMFT, the vice president of health plan and state growth with Carelon Behavioral Health. She told us about her main priorities for state healthcare at the 2023 Northern California State of Reform Health Policy Conference.
She said eliminating the various barriers people have to care is essential in improving access.
“We’re moving towards making sure that we are a leader in providing that kind of care and making sure that we impact communities so suicide rates go down, and so that justice-involved youth are getting the care they need so that it reduces recidivism and also helps them gain access to better their lives.”
