Kevin Denmark, Texas state director and vice president of account partnerships with Carelon Behavioral Health, says behavioral healthcare has “come a long way” in Texas. At our recent 2023 Texas State of Reform Health Policy Conference, Denmark provided an overview of some of the key initiatives he’s focused on from his behavioral health leadership position in the state.
He praised the growing investment in the Texas behavioral health space, and said it will be critical to ensure that stakeholders are working together to ensure this investment is adequately used to improve behavioral health.
“As we work with our health plans and government entities, we need to figure out what’s working and not working … we need to figure out how to increase investment in those things that are working.”
