Improving data sharing and collaborating with community-based organizations to improve health data collection are top priorities for Lorena Zimmer, chief impact officer at Denver Health. We sat down with her at our recent conference to discuss her organization’s work and her top priorities for healthcare in the state.

She highlighted the impact of Denver Health’s work to improve food security among patients as an example.

“We’re partnering with some community-based organizations to provide food to a couple of our clinics, but we’re also partnering with, for example, Food Bank of the Rockies to do a food delivery program to the peoples’ houses that have food insecurity, but also, for example, [have] hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and pre-diabetes.”
