Polis appoints new health board and commission seats

Gov. Jared Polis appointed new members to The Colorado Dental Board, the eHealth Commission, and the Nurse-Physician Advisory Task Force for Colorado Healthcare (NPATCH) on Thursday. 

 

 

The Colorado Dental Board creates rules and regulations and manages licensing for dental practices. Three members have been reappointed to their positions on the board:

The new appointees are:

These appointments will take effect on Jan. 1, 2021, with terms expiring on Jan. 1, 2025.

The eHealth Commission deals with the state’s Health IT strategy implementation. Two members have been reappointed to their positions on the commission:

  • Arthur Davidson, M.D.: representative of primary health care providers
  • Wesley Morgan Williams, PhD: representative of behavioral health

The new appointees are:

  • Kaakpema Yelpaala: representative with expertise in interoperability and data exchange 
  • Mona Baset: representative of health care facilities
  • Annie Harrington: representative with expertise in operability and data exchange, and as a non voting ex-officio member
  • Jason Mcroy: representative of nonprofit and health IT-related community, and as a non-voting ex-officio member

These appointments will take effect on Feb. 1, 2021, with terms expiring on Feb. 1, 2024.

NPATCH was created by SB 09-239. It facilitates collaboration between nursing and medicine practitioners to promote public safety and improve health care.

Gov. Polis has made one new appointment to this committee:

  • Robin A. Bruce, RN, BSN: member of nursing community. She is replacing Laura Ann Thomas, DNP, MSN, BSN following her resignation.

Bruce’s term will expire on Sept. 11, 2021.
