Dear Community Partner,
I am writing to inform you of an important change that will take place at Empire Health Foundation (EHF) this fall. After 10 years as founding President, I will be leaving EHF in October to begin a new position as Chief Executive Officer of Dogwood Health Trust, a health conversion foundation with a $1.5 billion endowment, located in Asheville, North Carolina. Read the full announcement here.
Now is an exciting time for new leadership at the Foundation. EHF’s financial position is strong and over the years we have invested significant time and energy into building a solid infrastructure comprised of a talented and capable Board and staff, strong programs and strategic partnerships.
EHF believes that health is a fundamental human right. Health equity is the cornerstone of our investments. It’s embedded in our mission and in our core values. These same tenets will continue to guide the Foundation as we grow and seek new opportunities for serving the region.
2020 promises to be an exciting year for EHF. We will continue administering programming aimed at addressing health equity by collaborating with community partners, leveraging resources and building regional capacity to measurably and sustainably improve health for the people of eastern Washington. Our collaborative relationships and work with our community and Tribal partners are well-positioned to continue thriving for years to come. You can learn more about EHF’s current work here.
My family and I have been proud to call eastern Washington home. I am so grateful for the honor and privilege to have served the communities and Tribes of eastern Washington as the founding President of Empire Health Foundation. I leave knowing the Board and staff are well-positioned to broaden the collaborative relationships we have with our partners and will continue boldly advancing health equity in this region and beyond.
With deep gratitude,
President, Empire Health Foundation
