Lisa Vance named Chief Executive for Providence in Oregon

Longtime Providence leader Lisa Vance has been named chief executive for Providence Health & Services in Oregon. Vance replaces Dave Underriner, who took a position in Hawaii last April.

Vance has deep roots in Oregon, and with Providence. She grew up in Medford and spent 27 years with Providence in Oregon in a range of leadership roles, including five years as chief executive for Providence Portland Medical Center and two years as chief executive for Oregon Clinical Programs and Home and Community Services. Most recently, Vance was senior vice president of Clinical Program Services for Providence St. Joseph Health.

“Lisa is a mission-driven servant leader, said Mike Butler, president of operations and strategy for Providence St. Joseph Health. “Her experience at both the regional and system level makes her uniquely qualified to partner and tap into the resources of the broader PSJH family to ensure the needs of Oregon communities are met.”

“I’m so excited to be rejoining our Oregon Region,” said Vance. “It is an honor to work with a team of professionals so dedicated to our Mission,”

“We’re glad Lisa is coming home,” said Joanne Warner, chair of Providence’s Oregon Community Ministry Board. “We know she is a great listener and consensus builder with a transparent and inclusive style.”

Vance begins her new role on Aug. 19, 2018.
