HUB California continues steady growth in San Francisco as Amanda Martinez and Timothy Conlon join international insurance brokerage
HUB International of California, a wholly owned subsidiary of HUB International Limited, a leading global insurance brokerage, risk advisory and employee benefits firm, announced today the hiring of two new employees. Amanda Martinez, an employee benefits Account Executive, will join the San Francisco California Street employee benefits team which effectively shares servicing responsibility with its “sister” offices in Northern California. Timothy Conlon comes to HUB as a commercial markets consultant and risk management advisor and will likewise call the San Francisco California Street office his business address.
Ms. Martinez joins HUB after very successful stints at Alliant Insurance Services where she served as an employee benefits Account Executive and Woodruff-Sawyer where her duties were those of an employee benefits Senior Account Manager. She has over seventeen years of experience in servicing medium to large employee groups that utilize both partially self-insured and fully insured plans. Her experience is in virtually all lines of employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, group life insurance and disability as well as voluntary benefits for groups generally of two hundred fifty participants or more. Her industry expertise is in technology, biotechnology and wineries. She suggests that her success as an Account Executive stems “from an unrelenting commitment to do the right thing for the insured.” Ms. Martinez joins a servicing staff of over three hundred and ninety employee benefits servicing personnel with HUB California.
HUB San Francisco California Street Senior Vice President and area manager Mary Castiglia says of Ms. Martinez, “We’re delighted to welcome Amanda to HUB and include her in our mission to build our employee benefits division into the finest of its kind. Her experience, knowledge, client-first behaviors and team-player persona make her a perfect fit for this growing crew.”
Ms. Martinez has a large extended family in the greater Bay Area and enjoys spending time with her step-son, her nieces and nephews and her own siblings. Like her whole family, she is a big football fan and an avid Oakland Raider supporter. She also admits to “being a bit of a pool shark” as she has grown up with pool tables as fixtures in her various childhood homes. She is a graduate of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program and a former member of the Chamber of Commerce of Sonoma County and is currently seeking a new Chamber with which to affiliate.
Timothy Conlon joins HUB and the commercial markets team in San Francisco with a strong pedigree in consultative risk management advocacy. He was most recently a Senior Vice President at Lockton Companies, Inc. where he grew his “retail” experience exponentially after serving in roles with LeaseTerm Insurance Solutions as Western Regional Director of a start-up firm that provided risk management solutions to the multi-family leasing marketplace and as a practice leader with All Risks, LTD., the nation’s largest independent wholesale insurance broker.
Ms. Castiglia said to Conlon’s hiring
Tim is the precise embodiment of the consultative client advocacy oriented Producer we seek at HUB. He’s entrepreneurial, he’s organized and he has a deep knowledge of all facets of the risk management advocacy that he provides to HUB’s clients. Beyond just knowledge, Tim possesses, I believe, scope and the right moral compass. He will, I expect, become one of HUB’s prolific risk attenuation strategists.
Conlon attributes his success in retail risk management to his commitment to assist mid-market companies to obtain notable improvements in how they leverage both cost and deployment strategy of insurance for their business. His primary target markets are real estate both multi-family and commercial (he has designed specific insurance programs for the multi-family vertical), development and construction, renewable energy, marine and aviation.
Conlon is married and the father of two girls and active in a number of non-work indulgences. He previously studied aeronautical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Arizona and is a multi-engine commercial instrument pilot. Conlon is also an active triathlete and participates in multiple events a year. Additionally Conlon is an alumnus of Leadership San Francisco and is still active with a number of their charities and organizations.
