What They’re Watching: Jim Gross, Nielsen Merksamer

Jim Gross, Partner at Sacramento-based law firm Nielsen Merksamer Parrinello Gross & Leoni joins State of Reform for a thought-provoking discussion on what a Republican President in 2017 could mean for California’s health care reform.

“Of course, depending upon how the presidential election turns out California may have to return to being its own innovator,” said Gross. “If in fact the ACA is—I’ll use the word “suffocated”—by a new President, and we lose money we’re going to have to learn how to better use our resources.”

Gross also reflects on the leadership style of Gov. Jerry Brown and the wisdom of the health care community beginning conversations with the legislature now rather than after the election.
