Early on, Alaska had one of the highest vaccination rates per capita in the country. The latest data from the CDC now shows Alaska in the bottom half of states in terms of vaccinations per 100K. For this virtual convening, we have gathered experts on vaccine science and outreach to discuss what we have learned about vaccine hesitancy in different communities across the state, and how to best overcome this reluctance.

Elizabeth Ripley has served as chief executive officer of the Mat-Su Health Foundation since July 2008. Prior to working for the Foundation, she held positions in the hospital industry that included volunteer management, marketing, foundation development and administration. Elizabeth earned a bachelor’s degree in English and communications from Western Maryland College and a Master of Arts in religion from Yale Divinity School.
Tracy Foo is the Vaccines Medical Director at Pfizer. Dr. Foo is committed to increasing vaccine confidence and immunization rates. She attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine, and completed her master’s degree in public health and preventative medicine. She is board certified in General Preventative Medicine and Public Health and completed an Executive MBA for Physicians at Brandeis University.
Anne Zink is the Chief Medical Officer for the State of Alaska. Dr. Zink moved through her training from College in Philadelphia to Medical School at Stanford, and then Residency at the University of Utah. Dr. Zink had the honor of becoming the State of Alaska’s Chief Medical Officer in July 2019 and strives to create work environment, policies, and practices that are data-driven, foster collaboration, and build system efficiencies that put patients first.
