Don Berwick is the United States’ leading advocate for high-quality healthcare. In December, 2011, he stepped down as the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. For 22 years prior to that, he was the founding CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, a nonprofit dedicated to improving healthcare around the world. A pediatrician by background, he has also served on the faculties of the Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Berwick’s morning address will be followed by a lively panel discussion with Dr. Berwick and three panelists. Audience questions will be taken for Dr. Berwick and the panel.

The event will run from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Hilton Seattle Airport Conference and Convention Center.
Following a brief welcome and introduction, Dr. Berwick will deliver a 40 minute keynote address. Representatives from the event sponsors will then join Dr. Berwick on stage for what will be a lively responsorial discussion on the content of Dr. Berwick’s address. This panel will be moderated and last approximately 35 minutes. Audience questions will be taken for approximately 10-15 minutes.
Both audio and video will be recorded throughout the morning – an allowance never before granted by Dr. Berwick. The content will be edited to produce a dynamic video clip featuring each sponsor actively engaging with Dr. Berwick in dialogue.
