The question of increasing affordable access to care has risen to the forefront of health policy conversations in the wake of COVID-19 — a shift from previously cost-focused models. In the world of pharmacy, health leaders are engaging in conversations about navigating cost pressures as Virginia begins to, hopefully, return to normal. State of Reform looks forward to diving into this topic at our upcoming “5 Slides: Bending the Rx cost curve” virtual convening. The conversation will take place November 2, from 1:00 – 2:00pm ET.

In this discussion, health experts will share their thoughts on the path to making pharmaceutical care more affordable by way of formulary adjustments, increasing the use of biosimilars, or other innovative solutions.

The conversation will bring together Robert Popovian, PharmD, senior health policy fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute, Sarah Ikenberry, senior communication advisor at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Kashyap Patel, MD, president for the Community Oncology Alliance.

Each panelist will bring with them a slide that highlights a question or topic they feel is key to the conversation. The event is free to attend, but make sure to register to join. You’ll have the ability to pose questions and participate in the conversation, just as you at our conferences.
