“I’m a health policy consultant here in Denver and a big project I’m very focused on right now is prescription drug importation. I’m working with the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to develop an application for HHS so that we can implement a program here in our state to lower drug prices. I’m very interested in hearing what we will learn from our stakeholder community around their perspectives on drug importation, so we can shape our application in a way that is supported by the community.

I think there’s never a perfect program when it comes to health care. We are spending some time looking at how other states have drafted concept papers and applications and we’re hoping to improve upon those. For example, Florida and Vermont have done quite a bit of work in the area of drug importation so we’re trying to learn from what they have done and build a unique program that’s specific to our community and our state.”
