What They’re Watching: Gustavo Friederichsen, LACMA
Gustavo Friederichsen is the CEO of the Los Angeles County Medical Association. Friederichsen has also served in executive leadership positions at ScrippsHealth, Sharp Healthcare, and Palomar Health. He joins us in this edition of “What They’re Watching” to discuss potential impacts on health policy.
“Right now we’re just focused on what is going to hurt and impact physicians, providers, patients, access to care, access to quality care, and we’re really focused on that. We’re really staying close to it.
We’re [also] going to watch the gubernatorial election and what the results are there because that could change the entire direction of things in California.
And then LA is its own country in terms of priorities, in terms of tribes if you will, and so we’re watching where things are. It’s about reimbursement, it’s about quality of care, it’s about ensuring that the feds don’t overreach and affect that patient-physician experience or relationship. So those are all keys right now.”
