Ports and Maritime Day in Olympia

Keep Washington Competitive is scheduled to meets with members of the Washington Maritime Federation as part of the Federation’s Ports and Maritime Day in Olympia on Tuesday, according to a release sent out by KWC.

The two groups will discuss regulatory legislation and importance of infrastructure investments. Rep. Matt Manweller (R-Ellensburg), Rep. Norma Smith (R-Clinton), and Rep. Gael Tarleton (D-Ballard) were all scheduled to participate in the discussion.

The event also brings together businesses, labor groups, and supporters to discuss the role of the maritime industry in Washington and advocate for maritime sector legislative priorities.

In Washington, the maritime sector accounts for 57,000 direct jobs and an additional 90,000 indirect jobs.

The lunch meeting is located in the Columbia Room in the Washington State Capitol Building. The meeting will run from 12pm to 1pm.

Keep Washington Competitive is a coalition of business, labor, agriculture, and trade representatives who promote bilateral trade growth through state policies.
